I’m going a little out of order here, I know. The next part of this series should really be about the Gemini & Sagittarius North Node/South Node Axis, but I just recently saw a question on reddit about the North Node in Leo, which gave me the idea go out of order here.

**In this post, we will take the House that the North Node falls in out of the equation and just focus on what it means to have your North Node in a specific sign (and what it means to have the South Node in the polarity sign). Usually with things having to do with the Nodal Axis (and growing into our North Node), a catalyst occurs in our lives that edges us out of the comfort of the South Node and into the uncharted territory of the North. This catalyst could be something major and life changing (such as a death, marriage, or divorce), or even something much more minor. Something will kind of shake us internally, saying “Wake up, fucker. You’re supposed to move beyond this,” whatever the “this” in the situation is. Once this waking up occurs, you will begin to move towards the North Node. Though, in all my years of study, this period of waking up usually doesn’t occur until the person’s first Saturn Return, or after it.**

North Node in Leo/South Node in Aquarius: If your North Node is in Leo, in this lifetime, your soul wanted to evolve into the feeling of being a real leader (and actually becoming one in some way). Your soul also desperately wants to be seen and heard, and front and center/in the spotlight in a way that you haven’t been able to be in a past life (or lives). The soul also has a deep need here to grow one’s sense of self, specifically the ego, and to really let yourself feel and react in natural and animated ways (both positive and negative) without restricting yourself. In past lives, with Aquarius ruling your South Node, you were probably more concerned with more universal and humanitarian issues (such as social injustices, social causes, etc), and were happy to be part of the larger collective working to better mankind. You didn’t need the spotlight and may have been content just being another cog in the wheel towards that betterment. In this life, your soul wanted to move out of the larger collective and come to the front of the stage and really shine, so to speak (possibly even by way of leading this type of collective). You wanted to be seen and heard in this lifetime, wanted to become the leader that you really are deep down and cultivate a healthy sense of ego for yourself. In regards to your relationships and feelings, you are looking for something deeper on a personal on a self level than you’ve had in your past lives as the Aquarius South Node suggests. There is a definite coolness and aloofness here that you are probably more comfortable expressing than your much more animated North Node emotions. There was also probably more emphasis in past lives placed on intellect, genius, and vision, which also caused your emotions to take a backseat. Once the evolution towards the North Node mission begins, usually from some catalyst big or small that kind of thrusts you into the big or small spotlight, you can find yourself a capable leader who just absolutely shines.

North Node in Aquarius/South Node in Leo: In this lifetime, Aquarius North Node person, your soul wanted to acheive progressiveness, working with the collective in some way, embracing the different, out-of-the-box & the weird, and the breakdown of the ego (and any self-absorbed tendencies) in favor of merging with something more universal and bigger than just yourself, and actually humbling your soul. You have probably spent a past lifetime (or several lifetimes) as the leader of the pack, in the spotlight, and front and center. There probably isn’t much of an issue with your ego based on this placement alone carried over from previous lives, and there may be a tendency to usually put yourself first before what would be best for everyone (yourself + everyone) in any given situation. You are probably naturally a very animated, lively, exuberant person (and maybe even a little dramatic at times). In this lifetime you probably crave the adoration, recognition, glamour, and luxury that you became accustomed to in previous incarnations. However, this isn’t your purpose this time around. Your soul deeply wanted to learn how to operate within the collective (not leading it), being productive and probably even visionary/genius-like in your own ideas and the ideas that you bounce around with other people. Embrace those genius, visionary, out-of-the-box, and just plain weird thoughts and ideas that you have in this lifetime! Don’t hold them back for fear of what people will think or for fear of hurting your image. Work with them, instead of against them. Instead of being as concerned with yourself as you have been in past lives, your soul wanted to focus it’s energy (and there is a lot of energy here!) towards more universal causes that impact mankind. Once the evolution into the North Node begins, usually from some type of catalyst that breaks down your sense of ego in some way, you will see that you are still special but there is more to this life and your soul’s purpose than just a sense of self and ego. So much more.

  1. Hi, wanted to know if my Leo NN at 29 degrees make any difference? Not sure if it helps to know I’m a Gemini sun, Capricorn moon, and Leo rising (also at 29 degrees). Scorpio Chiron is also in 29.

    • Hello fellow Capricorn Moon ^_^

You mean does it make any difference since it’s at 29-degrees? Probably not. The nodes move backwards naturally, so this wouldn’t be an anaretic degree in a traditional sense.

All of that stuff at 29-degrees would pique my interests for other reasons – just the pattern of that degree repeating is interesting. And the square between Chiron and the Nodal Axis interesting, too (I’d have to see the chart to know how it all dances together).

  2. Thank you for this.
I have a 6th House Aqua Moon- 5th House Aqua South Node conjunct Vertex.

Strong Mideheaven, Chart ruler Trines Moon. Sun conjunct MC Sextiles Leo NN, Trines Aqua SN.

    I’m CONFUSED!!! 😅🤣😭😭

    • Does the South Node conjunct the Moon, too, or is the Moon just conjunct the vertex? For this, you would probably want to pay attention to where Saturn and Uranus are in your chart (being the traditional and modern rulers respectively) to give you a better idea of your South Node “story.” From the North Node in Leo in the 11th, definitely look at what the Sun is doing by sign and house to give you a better idea of what your “mission” is this time around (I know you mention some aspects, but without actually seeing the chart myself I’m kind of confused, too 🤣😂)

If ya ever want me to do anything for you, let me know ^_^

  3. hi! I came here in search for better understanding my NN, however after reading about my leo nn in the 11th and aqua sn in 5th, i’m coming to the conclusion that my mission in life is to be a leader , but also that i shouldn’t seek out romantic partners ect. does this mean little for my romantic life? is my souls purpose to find peace being alone? will i not find a ‘real love’ per say and just karmic partners .. hopefully this made sense thank you

    • Hi 🙂

It may or may not tie in with your romantic life. The North Node is something the soul wanted to grow into, but just because on the surface it doesn’t seem to tie into romantic relationships (or other specific areas of the chart) doesn’t mean that it doesn’t. You would have to take the whole chart into account.

There is probably a need with the Leo North Node in the 11th to boldly go after your long-term goals and things like that (if that happens to be a long term relationship, perhaps it does tie in). Also, to be bold and lead other people (taking a leadership role with your friends and other groups). There are lots of ways that this could go….it would just really depend on the whole chart. I hope this helps 🙂

  4. Hi!
Thank you for this post! I have my NN 29° in Leo and I don’t know if the 29 makes it less powerful? I’m a double Pisces with a Gemini moon. I am very passive. I’m 40 and I’ve struggled with addiction and depression my whole life. I have do much anxiety about making decisions. I want to change, it’s just going slow. I don’t know if you can help me, I appreciate the information that you have shared here.

    • Hi A 🙂

It *could* make it more powerful, or prominent, considering the NN/SN axis is at 29-degrees (can totally where you’re coming from with thinking that). I might be able to help you, but I’m not sure how much help I would be without seeing your whole chart (specifically stuff going on with the Nodal Axis…..aspects to it and stuff like that).

  5. Hi Miss Starwitch! I stumbled upon your Reddit post about north node conjunct the vertex and it brought me here. I’m trying to figure something out, idk if you can help me. I’m trying to plan my solar return. I’ve been thinking about going somewhere for my solar return where A) the transit vertex will be EXACTLY conjunct the transit Venus, and the transit Midheaven will be conjunct the sun by 2° or B)stay home where the transit vertex will be conjunct the north node by 1° and not near the transiting Venus at all, and the transit Midheaven will be conjunct the sun by 3°. Do you have any advice on this or any input?

    • Hi 🙂

I guess I would be curious what you were trying to achieve with these aspects (or what you were hoping to happen in general). With the first one, does the Transit Venus/Transit Vertex do anything to your chart in overlays with the possible Solar Return and the Natal Chart? Just having the Transit Vertex conjunct Transit Venus doesn’t necessarily mean you “meet someone” this upcoming year (it perhaps makes it more possible, but doesn’t necessarily mean it will happen). I actually like the second one, better, with the Transit Vertex conjunct the North Node (I assume you mean your natal North Node). That kind of lights up your natal North Node, and would think cause something fated to happen this year in terms of going towards your North Node mission. I’d really wanna see the different SR possible charts alone and up against your Natal Chart to know more.

  6. Thank you for this, I’ve been trying to figure out my nodal axis for some time, this is helpful. I have North Node in Leo 11th house conjunct Uranus by 4 degrees. Both my 5th and 11th houses begin at 0 degrees and end at 30 degrees. I’m not sure if that’s an interception by definition, but I guess the whole thing must be about the balance of this axis. Thanks again.

  7. Thank you for this! My spouse has this axis in his chart, and I think struggles with it because his south node is in Aqua, but he has an Aqua stellium of all his personal planets except Mercury. And his ASC is Aqua. You actually looked at his chart for me and answered my question on his intercepted signs recently, which I really appreciate.

Interestingly, his north node conjuncts my ASC, in his 6th house. I am always trying to help him improve on his daily routines and health, and on understanding the value of himself and his service to others.

    • I remember you (I like your user name ^_^)!

How close is the conjunction between your ASC and his North Node? You are probably a real guiding force for him 🙂 which is such a nice aspect to have in synastry!

And I’m glad I could be of some help ^_^
